Jeanette Cecilia Willcuts, 82, of Wagner

Jeanette died Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner. Funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church at 10 AM, Friday, April 7, 2023. Burial is in the St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery in Marty, SD. Wake services will begin Wednesday at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Jeanette Cecilia Willcuts was born on March 3, 1941 to Oscar Bernie and Isabel Zephier. She was only six months old when her mom died. She and her siblings Beatrice, Triana, Earlwin Bernie were placed in Saint Placid Orphanage until they were of school age. They then stayed at Marty Indian School. She was age 12 when she moved with her older sister Thelma to Wichita, Kansas. At the age of 16 she moved to California where she stayed for 40 years.

In 1987, she moved to Marty, South Dakota and remained there for the rest of her days. She is known for calling everyone sweetie. She loved religious movies and music. She enjoyed life and bossing people around. She spoke up for anyone who was in need of help.

She married Marvin Willcuts in Los Angeles, California in 1961. She had five children Linda Kaye Walker, Marvin L. Willcuts, Andrea K., Lynette (Hennessy) & James Willcuts. She is survived by her siblings Dorothy Blessman, Beatrice, Triana, and Earlwin Bernie Sr. and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
