Jerry Zoss, 72, of Denver, CO
Funeral services are 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the East Lake Andes Lutheran Church, rural Armour, with Pastor Bill Van Gerpen officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Armour. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.
Jerry Lou Zoss, son of Ben and Augusta Rika (Vosberg) Zoss, was born December 2, 1940 at Manson, IA. He died Sunday, November 17, 2013 at his son's home in Denver, CO. Jerry attained the age of 72 years, 11 months and 16 days.
Jerry attended country school near Armour, SD through the eighth grade.
Jerry married Francine Pekas in 1960 and the couple moved to Marcus, IA. Two sons were born to their union. He moved to Commerce City, CO in 1972 and married Betty Davis on December 6, 1974. She preceded him in death.
Jerry was a forklift operator for Tempte Truck and Trailer Manufacturing in Colorado for many years. In 2011, due to failing health, he began living with his son, Mike.
Jerry was known as the "lawn mower man", as he loved fixing and riding them. He was the constant flirt. Jerry loved to tinker, go to flea markets and rummage sales, watch wrestling and car races, and gamble. He was always fond of little kids and animals.
Thankful for having shared his life are his sons: Melvin of Commerce City, Co and Mike of Denver, CO; three step children: Debbie Stednitz of Hudson, CO; Clarence Stednitz of Commerce City, CO; and Brenda Joffroy of Federal Heights; four brothers: Bennie of Armour; Bennis and wife Donna of Adel, IA; Larry of Elk Point; and Jimmy and wife Jennene of Pueblo, CO; one sister, LeAnn Schuldt of Sioux City, IA; two sisters-in-law: Marge Zoss of Yankton and Karen Zoss of Armour; and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his second wife; parents; five brothers: Marvin, Gary, Ivan "Bill", Norman and Charles and one sister, Shirley Misner and husband Bill.
