Jesse Johnson, 46, of Wagner

Funeral Services were 2 PM, Monday, August 14, 2017 at the American Legion Hall in Wagner, with Pastor Harold Marshall officiating. Burial was in the Greenwood Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Greenwood. Casket bearers were Kaleb Hartley, Bill Hartley, Kevin Blaine, Gary Bettelyoun, Lyle Dion, Virgil Johnson, Jerry Little Owl, Terry Blaine, Pete Blaine and Alfred Eagle Deer, Jr. Honorary bearers were Richard Johnson, Juan Mares Martinez and the Livingstone Apostolic Church.

Jesse Ray Johnson was born on January 19, 1971 in Wagner, SD to Winifred Johnson and Clement Blaine. He died Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Lake Andes Healthcare Center in Lake Andes.

Jesse lived in Greenwood and later moved to Ravinia, until the death of his mother. He then moved to Rapid City, where he lived with the Schmidt family until he turned 18 years old. Jesse moved back to Wagner for a few years.

In 1998, Jesse met and married Arlene DeCory and three children were born to their union: Jessica "Jazzy" (his only daughter), Ohitika, and Michael. He was later blessed with three more sons: Jesse Jr. (Cheyenne Hare), Isaac and Hakena (Misty McBride).

Jesse adored his children. He was very compassionate about family and treated friends just the same. He will be remembered for his humor and love for making people laugh. Jesse was always positive and forever smiling. His motto: GOOD WORDS, GOOD THOUGHTS!

Jesse is survived by his family: sisters: Arlys (Bill Hartley), Madonna Howard and Bonnie Ward; brothers: O'Dell Johnson, Terry Blaine, Jerry Little Owl, Robert Ward and Pete Blaine; and numerous cousins and friends.

Jesse was preceded in death by both of his parents; sisters: Kathleen Johnson and Roxanne Conger; and brother Michael Johnson.
