Jesse Pravecek, 39, of Aberdeen, formerly of Wagner
Memorial services will be 10:30 AM, Monday, February 4, 2019 at the First Lutheran Church in Mitchell. Inurnment is in Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell, with military honors. Memorial visitation with family present will be from 1:30 to 3 PM, followed by a Prayer Service at 3 on Sunday at the First Lutheran Church. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.
Jesse died Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls. Memorial services will be 10:30 AM, Monday, February 4, 2019 at the First Lutheran Church in Mitchell. Jesse James Pravecek was born April 15, 1979 at Yankton, SD, the son of James and Lois (Mutschelknaus) Pravecek. He died Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Jesse graduated from Wagner High School in 1997. He served in the US Navy from 1997 until 2007 as a Nuclear Engineer. He was stationed on board the USS Santa Fe for four years. He was also stationed in Hawaii and Charleston, SC for four years each. Jesse was a member of the American Legion.
Jesse started his career with Subway in 1993 while he was a freshman in high school. His family established ownership of Subway in Wagner in January of 1997. He became a franchisee of Subway in Wagner in 2005. He worked for Subway nationally in I.T. work, as a business consultant and Operational Technology Leader (OTL) in the Grand Island district territory. He received the only OTL Award at a Development Agent Leadership in 2015. Jesse was part owner of Subway in Britton and has been the Director of Operations in Aberdeen (WF Castle) for the past 3 years.
Jesse will be remembered for his love for his family and for animals, especially dogs. He inspired to be like his Grandpa Elmer, leaving a legacy of love and memories for his nieces, nephews, siblings and mom. Family was the most important thing to Jesse. His nieces and nephews were truly the light of his life. He put his mother, siblings and nieces and nephews first in his life.
Thankful for having shared his life are his mother Lois Pravecek of Wagner; brother Nicholas (Nikita) Pravecek of Panama City, Fl; two sisters: Elizabeth (Dustin) Brandt of Avon and their children Hoyt and Haley, Rachel (Eric) Giblin of Mitchell and their children, Brynn, Jack, Brooks and Trae; and aunts and uncles: Mary Magstadt of North Bend, NE, Marlys Mutschelknaus of Mitchell, Jim (Anita "Samm" Schmidt) Mutschelknaus of Blackhawk, Terry (Terry) Pravecek of Sioux Falls, and Virgil (Connie) Pravecek of Tyndall; and several cousins.
Jesse was preceded in death by his father James Pravecek; grandparents: Elmer and Erna Mutschelknaus and George and Louise Pravecek; and his beloved Italian Greyhound DaVinci and Greyhound LaNae.
