Joan Truman, 61, of Wagner
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Thursday, December 10, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church in Wagner. Burial will be Friday in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Selby. Visitation is Wednesday from 2 to 6 PM at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner.
Joan Carol Truman was born September 1, 1954 in Aberdeen, SD, the daughter of Lawrence and Sara Jane (Moos) Stahlecker. She died unexpectedly Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner.
Joan graduated from high school in Selby and attended a clerical school in Mitchell.
Joan married Gary Truman on June 9, 1984 in Hot Springs, SD.
Joan worked in a nursing home before moving to Washington, DC, where she worked for the Department of Agriculture. She later worked at Ellsworth Air Force Base and the VA Hospital in Hot Springs and in Sioux Falls.
Joan will be remembered for enjoying a multitude of crafts and for volunteering at the Good Samaritan Center.
Thankful for having shared her life are her husband Gary of Wagner and their three adopted children: Sarita, Allie and Mini; step daughter Cathy Truman; and brother, Keven (Deb) Stahlecker of Canton.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents.
