John Cournoyer, 47, of Wagner
Funeral services will be 10 AM, Saturday, February 25, 2023 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Marty. Burial is in St Paul's Catholic Cemetery. Wake services will begin Wednesday at the YST South Housing Community Gym in Wagner.
John Cournoyer was born in Yankton, SD to Donald Cournoyer, Sr. and Jacqueline Holiday. He died Monday, February 20, 2023 at his home in Wagner.
John was raised between South Dakota and Utah. He had a close relationship with his paternal grandparents Steve and Pearl Cournoyer, but was still momma's big boy.
John attended Marty Indian School and graduated in 1994. He enjoyed hunting with his children, cruising around with his music and supporting his family by driving commercial trucks.
John spent the last 26 years married to the love of his life Amanda Kezena-Cournoyer, together they had 9 beautiful children: Anitra Eliza, Glenn Eugene Warren, Brock Edwin Michael, Jacob Eli, John Eugene Jr, Jazmin Eloise, Jerome Emerson, Jack Elliot Cane and Iris Ahrleena Faye.
John is survived by his wife and children; siblings: Trinity Cournoyer Sr. (Coly) of Mitchell, Donald Cournoyer Jr, Anthony Patterson, Donovan Patterson, and Samuel Patterson of Wagner; Tammy Rangel of Wagner, Ceanna Horned Eagle of Kansas, Savannah Fischer (Wanbdi) of Wagner, and Charla Corona of Mitchell; plus many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Jacki Holiday, both maternal and paternal grandparents and other loved ones.
