John Calvin Gunnare, 94, of Blue Hill, NE, formerly of Armour, SD, died January 12, 2022, at Mary Lanning Health Care, surrounded by his loving family.

John was born on July 9, 1927, at home, to Erik and Anna (Innala) Gunnare of Delmont, SD.

John graduated from Delmont High School in 1945, attended college at the Southern State Normal School, Springfield, South Dakota, and served in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1957.

John will be remembered for his strong faith in God, dedication to his wife and four children, love of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John's love of sports especially baseball and basketball found them traveling many miles following their sons' playing college and amateur baseball and later the teams they coached. His interest of these sports continued by following his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
