John Kwiek, 65, of Springfield

John Alan Kwiek was born November 6, 1959 in Columbus, OH, the son of Michael Dennis and Francis Mae (Mendenhall) Kwiek. He died Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at his home in Springfield, under hospice care.

John earned his Associate's Degree in Science from RETS Electronics, Louisville, KY in 1992.

John served in the United States Marine Corps from 1978 to 1984 and the Kentucky Army National Guard from 2003 to 2012. He was medically retired with 16 years of service.

John was united in marriage to Julie Anne (Hardin) Kwiek on January 1, 1980 in Beaufort, SC. John worked in the computer field and military communications.

John was a member of the American Legion. He will be remembered for his love of fishing and sightseeing historic places.

Thankful for having shared his life are his wife Julie Kwiek of Louisville, KY; his children: Jessica (Ray) Wiseman of Ramsey, IN, and their children Ibalari, Clay, Walker and Calvin, John M. (Laura) Kwiek of Lexington, KY and their children Sawyer, Elijah, and Lila, and Jeremiah (Ashley) Kwiek of Colorado Springs, CO and their children Jack, Anderson and Allison.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

Per John's wishes, no services will be held and burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish, next to his grandfather, Michael James Kwiek.
