John Thomson, 36, of Lake Andes

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM, Monday, January 21, 2019 at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Lake Andes. Burial is in St. Mark's Catholic Cemetery, rural Lake Andes. Rosary/Wake services are 6 PM Sunday at the church.

John Michael Thomson, 36 was born on August 5, 1982 in Brookings, SD the son of Robert and Julie (Howard) Thomson. He passed into eternal life on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at his home in Sioux Falls of natural causes.
John graduated from Andes Central High School in 2000. He attended Mitchell Technical School in 2001-2003, graduating with an associates degree in computer system technology. John continued his education at Dakota Wesleyan University receiving his BS in Business.
John worked various accounting positions at Furniture Outlets USA, POET, Davison Co Auditors office, and ELO. John moved to Honolulu, HI to live with his brother. He returned to Sioux Falls and worked at various positions.
John will be remembered for his infectious smile, generous heart, and ease of conversation. John could walk in and sit down with a complete stranger and he would have another friend. He loved spending time with his nieces, nephew, and family.
Grateful to have shared his life are his parents Robert and Julie Thomson of Lake Andes, brothers Steven (Lacey) of Dell Rapids and Michael (Kate) of Kaneohe, HI; nieces: Allison, Maddison, and Lani; nephew Mason; grandparents Margaret Thomson of Lake Andes and Patrick and Marlene Howard of Woonsocket; uncles and aunts, and cousins.
John was preceded in death by his grandfather, Thomas A Thomson; uncles Rodney and Joseph Howard, William Koenig; and cousins: Nicholas Dumdei, and twins Jacob and Vincent Addison.
