Jory McBride, 25, of Wagner

Jory died Thursday, May 13, 20201 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral Services are 1 PM, Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the National Guard Armory in Wagner. Burial is in the Holy Name (Choteau Creek) Episcopal Cemetery, rural Wagner. Wake services will begin Sunday at the Armory.

Jory Freeman "Gootz" McBride-Patterson was born September 22, 1995 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton to Moncy McBride and Chris patterson, Sr. Jory began his journey to join his mom and brother, Payton on May 13, 2021. He attained the age of 25 years, eight months and 21 days.

Got resided on the Ihanktonwan reservation all of his life in the town of Wagner. He attended school here until the 9th grade.

Jory met Johnnie Horned Eagle in high school and to this union two daughters were born, Jasmine Jacce and Julianna Jae. They were his PRIDE & JOY!!

He played football and basketball with all of his brothers. Jory was a very helpful, outgoing and caring person who was always there to help whoever was in need. He enjoyed listening to music and just chillin with the boys. During the winter months you could find him shoveling sidewalks and driveways and during the spring and summer mowing lawns just to be helping the people. He never asked for pay.

Jory is survived by his daughters, Jasmine and Julianna; his father, Chris Patterson, Sr.; two sisters: Satrese and Clarene; a brother, Chris J.; two nieces: TyShay and TaCea, eight nephews: Tysen, Wambli, Tyis, TaCien, J'Cyan, Carlin, Jamarius, and Carsen: numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, grammas; other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Welcoming Jory home in Heaven are: his mom Money, brother Payton, Aunt Mary McBride; Uncle Robert "Bubba" McBride; Aunt Mary Patterson and Uncle Layton Patterson, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Calvin "Jack" and Berdelene Zephier McBride Sr.; and paternal grandparents, Diane Crawford and Layton Patterson, Sr.
