Julia "Judy" Picotte, 95, of Wagner
Funeral Services are 1 PM, Monday, January 26, 2026 at the YST South Gym in Wagner. Burial is in the Greenwood Presbyterian Cemetery. Wake services will be held at 7 PM on Saturday and Sunday at the South Gym.
Julia K. Picotte was born July 17, 1930 to Agnes Weddell and George Felicia in Wagner, SD. She died Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner.
Julia attended Rosebud boarding school in Mission, SD. She then did her high school years at Greenwood High School.
Julia married Joseph "Frenchie" Picotte in 1949. To this union she had twelve (12) children: Patricia, Joseph Jr., Eugene, Marilyn, Carol, Rodney, Jeanie, Ronald, James, Jimmy, Roberta, and Michelle.
Julia worked many jobs throughout her life, but sewing was her passion and she was a legendary seamstress. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends. She was known for her sense of humor, "got to have humor", was one of her many famous sayings. She enjoyed telling stories about her life and many experiences.
Julia is survived by her sister Phyllis Sully, and children: Patricia (Bob) Goulette, Eugene (Belinda) Picotte, Marilyn Picotte, Carol (Warren) Picotte, Jeanie (Brent) Cooke, Roberta (Herman) Ulrich, and Michelle Picotte; her grandchildren; and great grandchildren.
Julia was welcomed into the spirit world by her parents, Agnes Weddell and George Felicia; husband, Joseph "Frenchie" Picotte; children: Joseph Picotte, Jr., Rodney Picotte, James Picotte, Jimmy Picotte; and brothers: Hank Felicia, Clayton Felicia, and Benjamin Felicia.
