Kathleen Ridgway, 66, of Avon
A Celebration of Life service will held at 10:30 AM, Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Friedensburg Bible Church, rural Avon. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Chapel in Avon is in charge of arrangements.
Kathleen Jean (Weibel) Ridgway was born April 9, 1952 to Mary Elizabeth Weibel in Yankton, SD. She attended Sacred Heart School during her elementary education and graduated from Yankton High School in 1971.
Kathy married Allen Ray Ridgway at Sacred Heart Church in Yankton on October 5, 1973. During her years of marriage she worked at M-tron Industries, Dale's Electronics, at the Human Services Center in the geriatric department and the Blue Valley Food Service in Overland Park, KS.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran, Gayville Lutheran, Blue Valley Church of the Nazarene, Springhill Nazarene Church in Springhill, KS, and Friedensburg Bible Church in Avon, SD. She belonged to several women's church groups.
Kathy loved her children and grandchildren, and spent much time doing word puzzles and petting her lapdog "Penny".
Kathy is survived by her husband Ray Ridgway, daughter Carol and her children: Michael, Tiffany and Hunter, two sons: Matthew and Adam, a daughter Mary and her son Charlie, all of Avon, daughter Kelli and her husband Ryan Scheuerman and children Coen and Adley of Tyndall, a daughter Jennifer and husband Santiago Alonzo and son Valenteno of Yankton; a brother, Jack Weibel of Georgetown, TX; and two half brothers recently discovered, Jay and Scott Mutchelknaus of Wolsey.
Kathy was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Frank and Alvina Haas, mother Mary Weibel; cousins: Steve Haas, Roger Haas and Tammy Haas, Ken Haas and numerous aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Kathy entered into rest at 5:05 AM on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the Avera Hospice in Sioux Falls, SD.
