Keith M. Powers, 77, of Dante

Keith died unexpectedly on Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner. Wake services were held at 7 PM Monday and Tuesday at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Funeral services were 10 AM, Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the Community Center. Burial was in the Cedar Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Pickstown, with military honors. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home of Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Keith was born February 9, 1937 in Winnebago, NE to Guy Powers and Lydia Feather. Beloved brother to Darell, Sandra, Nathan, Malcom and Guy. Husband to Patricia, father to Keith Wayne, Gloria, Jason and late Orlando Powers. Grandfather to Jose Soto Jr, Jason Douglas, Ivette, Elisabeth, Samuel, Antonio, Alexandria and Janessa. Great grandfather to 10.

He spent his schooling years in Hot Springs where he graduated from Brainerd High School. He then joined the Air Force for four years. Keith settled in Chicago, IL and started his family.

He retired from Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital after 20 years of service. Afterward, Keith and his wife relocated to Wisconsin for 12 years, before moving to South Dakota. Keith was a hard worker, who was devoted to his family.

He was a wonderful, kind, giving man, who is dearly loved and will be missed.

Keith leaves behind many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
