Kenneth Fuchs, 72 of Lake Andes
Funeral services are 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Wagner Community Church in Wagner. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Lake Andes, with military honors. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 PM at the Wagner Community Church with a Scripture Service at 7 PM. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.
Kenneth John Fuchs was born at Wagner to John and Marcella (Kulhavy) Fuchs on April 22, 1947. He passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at his home in rural Lake Andes.
Ken attended country grade school and graduated from Ravinia High School in May of 1966. He entered the US Army in October of 1966, serving a tour of duty in Vietnam in 1968. Kenneth also served in the SD National Guard.
Ken was united in marriage to Jeanette Goehring on November 30, 1968 in Delmont, SD. They have two children, John Edgar Fuchs and Phyllis Kaye Mach. They lived in Mitchell, Wagner and Yankton until moving to the family farm in March of 2009. Kenneth was employed at Kolberg Manufacturing in Yankton for 32 years. After retiring he restored a 1948 John Deere B, which he drove on tractor rides with the Tri-State Old Iron Club. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, canoeing down the Missouri River and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Thankful for having shared his life are his wife Jeanette of almost 51 years, his son John Fuchs of Parkston, his daughter Phyllis (Tracy) Mach of Tyndall; four grandchildren: Kelsey (Jesse) Stainbrook, Brody Fuchs, Kolby Mach (Halee Schrader) and Shelby Mach, all of Tyndall; three great grandchildren: Miles Stainbrook, baby Stainbrook in 2020 and Asher Schrader; sister Joyce Schaecher of Avon; sister-in-law Shirley Stach of Sioux Falls; brothers-in-law Gaylord (Gail) Goehring of Mitchell and Merlin (Barb) Goehring of Sioux Falls; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and neighbors.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law Edgar and Evelyn Goehring; brother-in-law Paul Stach; and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
