Lena Brandt, 87, of Columbia, MD

Funeral services are 10:30 AM, Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church in Avon. Burial is in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Avon. Visitation will be the hour prior to services at the church. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Chapel in Avon is in charge of arrangements.

Lena Lurose Brandt was born January 16, 1931 at Halls, MO, the daughter of Hiram and Cora Healey. She died Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Harmony Hall in Columbia, MD. Lena attained the age of 87 years, seven months and 28 days.
Lena married Ervin Brandt in Sioux City, IA on September 5, 1958. Two sons were blessed to their union. The family moved to Maryland, where they raised their two children.
Thankful for having shared her life are her two sons: Timothy Brandt and wife Annette of Hanover, MD and Thomas Brandt and wife Eva of Ellicott City, MD; four grandchildren: Dawn Brandt and husband Steve Chicca, Justin Brandt and wife Michelle, all of Charleston, SC, and Colleen and Kelly Brandt of Ellicott City, MD; two great grandchildren: Theodore "Theo" Brandt and Belle Brandt; and many nieces and nephews.
Lena was preceded in death by her husband Ervin Brandt on February 8, 2017; parents Hiram and Cora Healey; four brothers: Alfred, Murlin, Sampson and Shelton Healey; and two sisters: Irene Vickers and Alice Payne.
