Obituary

Funeral services will be 2 PM,Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Avon. Burial is in the church cemetery, rural Avon. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 AM until the time of the service at the church. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Chapel in Avon is in charge of arrangements.

Leona C. Lang of Dover, Delaware went to her heavenly reward on

Thursday, October 9, 2008, in Bay Health Medical Center following a short illness.

Leona was the daughter of Gustave and Pauline Strobel. She was born October 8, 1924 at Venturia, ND. She accepted Christ as her Savior in 1936, and was baptized and joined the church. She had a high school education and always dreamed of going into the mission field, but the Lord showed her that her work was at home. She taught Sunday school and was involved in youth ministry for many years.

On January 1, 1946 she married Rev. Henry Lang and to that union were added three children: Robert Henry, Mary Ann and Larry Paul.

Together with Henry,they served five churches in the Dakotas and

Kansas and also served in the Chaplaincy at Bismarck Baptist Home.

Following retirement they served in the area of Interim Ministries.

At the time of her death, Leona was a member of Christ Memorial
Baptist Church in Dover,Delaware. She was an active participant in
Sunday School and the Women's Ministry.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents Gustave and Pauline
Strobel; her husband, Henry; her son Robert and his wife Phyllis; and a granddaughter, Jenifer.

Missing her on this side of heaven are her daughter Mary Dobrinski and her husband Dale, with whom Leona lived, of Dover, DE; Larry and his wife Dana of Sioux Falls; six grandchildren: Heidi Snarsky and her husband John, Jeremy Dobrinski and his wife Mindy, Debra Melson and her husband Mike, Nicole Lang and her husband Kevin Terpstra, Eli Lang
and Chloe Lang; three great grandchildren: Jacob and Caroline

Snarsky and Tessa Dobrinski. She is also survived by four sisters
and three brothers, many nieces and nephews, and many spiritual sons and daughters.
