LeRoy D. Brennfoerder, 76, of Pickstown, SD/South Sioux City, NE

LeRoy Dean Brennfoerder was born March 4, 1936 at Lawrence, NE, the second son of Andrew C. and Isabelle (Morey) Brennfoerder. He died peacefully on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at his home in Pickstown, SD. LeRoy attained the age of 76 years, 7 months and 2 days.

LeRoy grew up in Lawrence and Blair, NE. He graduated from Blair High School in 1954. LeRoy served in the US Navy from 1954-1956. He served on two cruises to the Mediterranean on the USS Intrepid AirCraft Carrier.

LeRoy married Gerriann Lemon on January 25, 1956 at the Methodist Church in Blair, NE. He worked throughout his life at Safeway stores, Roberts Dairy, Metz Baking and after retirement from the Teamsters Union he worked at Sioux City Schools in the lunch program.

LeRoy spent most of his retirement at his mobile home in Pickstown, SD enjoying fishing, hunting, golfing and playing cards weekly at the "round table". He also loved Husker football and following his grandkid's activities.

Thankful for having shared his life are his wife Gerriann of Pickstown, SD/South Sioux City, NE; two daughters: Christie (Marvin) Conrad of Dakota City, NE; Teresa (Terry) Hobbs of Sioux City, IA; son, Michael (Alison) Brennfoerder of Arlington, NE; 7 grandchildren: Mindy Lee Conrad, Nicholas Gene (Kassi) Conrad, Trevor Thomas Hobbs, Logan Thomas Hobbs, Adam Michael Brennfoerder, Madison Lee Brennfoerder, Britton Tower Adams; great grandson, Daevion Gene Conrad; and sister, Carol Bruce of Raleigh, NC; special sister-in-law, Mary Margret (James) Sorensen of Pickstown; and nieces and nephews.

LeRoy was preceded in death by an infant son, LeRoy, Jr.; parents; brother, Eugene Brennfoerder and sister, Earlene Brennfoerder.

Private Memorial services are being held.
