Lester Luvern Lehrkamp, 53, of Moville, IA
Memorial services will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 6, 2018, at the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church in Wagner, with Pat White Horse-Carda officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner, SD.
Lester "Les" L. Lehrkamp, 53, of Moville, Iowa entered into rest Monday, Dec. 25, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA., following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Lehrkamp was born June 28, 1964, in Butte, MT, the son of Arnold D. Lehrkamp and Delphine (Selwyn) Lehrkamp Doney.
From a young age he aspired to be a successful auto mechanic graduating from Mitchell Vo-Tech at the top of his class. He worked in Minnesota, Iowa, and Montana.
He adored nature and wildlife, especially cats of all kinds. He spent many hours perfecting his favorite car, the blue 72' Mercury Comet. Music was an ongoing and ever present influence throughout his life. He enjoyed fishing for rainbow trout, cooking like his Mom, shooting pool, rolling dice, and both beading and drawing, following in the footsteps of his Uncle Jr.
He was famous for his one liners, had a giving heart, and wouldn't think twice about helping someone in need.
He was baptized in the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include his brothers; Brad Lehrkamp, Alan Lehrkamp and his wife Chris of Helena, MT; two sisters, Lenore Lehrkamp Menth of Helena, MT, Donna Lehrkamp and her son, Marshall Daniels of Moville, IA, as well as 10 other nieces and nephews.
