Lillian Kisely, 96 of Wagner
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Monday, March 31, 2008 at the United Methodist Church in Wagner, with burial in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner. Visitation will be at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner on Sunday from 2 pm to 7 pm, with the family present from 6 to 7.
Lillian Kisely, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Jezek) Varilek, was born on a farm near Geddes, SD on November 25, 1911. She died Thursday, March 27, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Society in Wagner. Lillian attained the age of 96 years, four months and three days.
Lillian attended country school through the eighth grade. She married Joseph J. Kisely of Lake Andes on September 1,1931 at the Methodist Church Parsonage in Geddes. Together they farmed in the Geddes-Lake Andes area until the spring of 1937, when they moved to a farm southwest of Wagner. In 1944, they moved to a farm seven miles northeast of Wagner. They remained there until 1971, when they retired and moved into Wagner. Joe died September 13, 1994. Lillian became a resident of the Wagner Good Samaritan Society on October 28, 2004.
Lillian was a member of the United Methodist Church, Senior Citizens and AARP. She will be remembered for her enjoyment of playing cards and visiting.
Thankful for having shared her life are her children: Alvin and wife Geraldine of Wagner; Robert and wife Evelyn of Ramseur, NC; and Karen Kindt and husband Allen of Wagner; 11 grandchildren; 15 grandchldren; sister-in-law, Ethel Varilek of NE; sister-in-law, Helen Benner of Lake Andes; and a niece and nephew.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband; parents; grandson, Edward Kindt in 1991; and a brother, Jerry Varilek.
