Lois Sattler, 96, of Avon

Funeral services are 10:30 AM, Monday, January 13, 2020 at the First Presbyterian Church in Avon. Burial is in the Trinity Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Avon. Visitation will be at the church on Sunday from 2 to 4 PM. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Chapel in Avon is in charge of arrangements.

Lois W. Sattler was born January 16, 1923 on a farm southwest of Avon, the daughter of Arthur and Laura (Watwood) Oliver. She died Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society in Tyndall.

Lois graduated from Avon High School in 1940. She attended Springfield Normal School and received her teaching certificate. Lois taught in rural Avon schools for two years before her marriage.

Lois married Art Sattler on November 26, 1943 in Avon. Together they farmed southwest of Avon. Lois was also an aide at several rural schools and the Avon school for many years before retiring. They retired in 1988 and moved into Avon.

Lois will be remembered for her love of doing crossword puzzles, Minnesota Twins baseball, and watching her kids and grandkids in their sporting events, especially baseball. Lois was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Thankful for having shared her life are her children Robert Sattler of Parker and Jim (Donna) Sattler of Menno; five grandchildren: Derrek (Tressa) Sattler, Christopher (Angie) Sattler, Amanda Sattler, Tom (Summer) Sattler, and Kent (Tracy) Sattler; 11 great grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband Art on April 14, 1995; sister Erma Powers; brother Charles Oliver; and daughter-in-law Charlaine Sattler.
