Lorraine Frey, 87, of Avon

Lorraine Mae Baltus was born May 2, 1932 at Stewart, MN, the daughter of Ervin and Della Baltus. She died Monday, September 23, 2019 at the Senior Living Center in Lake Andes, SD.
Lorraine graduated from Hector, MN high school in 1952. She then went to St. Paul and worked as a file clerk. Lorraine married Roger Frey on June 24, 1961 in Hector, MN. They then moved to the Frey farm in Avon. They raised corn, soybeans, milo, alfalfa, hogs, cattle and chickens. In 1997 they retired and moved from the farm to the city of Avon. As their health declined, they both wound up in a nursing home, the Senior Living Center, Lake Andes, SD.
Lorraine is survived by two daughters: Carole Frey of Yankton and Carla Frey of Rapid City; one son, Rolain Frey of Rapid City; a brother, Leonard Baltus of Garrison, ND; three sisters: Marlene Howe of Buffalo, MN, Darlene Malecka of Coon Rapids, MN and Evangelynn Anderson of Apple Valley, MN. She is also survived by brother-in-law James (CarolAnne) Frey of Avon and sister-in-law Audrey Frey (Jerry) McReavy of North Sioux City, SD; and many nieces and nephews.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband; Roger, two sons; Rodney and Leroy, her parents; and her brother; Delbert Baltus.
Lorraine's memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on Main St. in Avon, SD on Monday evening, October 7, 2019 at 7:00 PM. Pastor Lorney VanGerpen will be officiating.
