Louis Medicine Horn, Sr., 65 of Mitchell

Louis was born December 31, 1946 at White Swan-Pickstown, SD. Funeral services are 1 PM, Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Burial is in St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery in Marty. Wake services began Wednesday at the Community Center. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.

Louie was born at home in White Swan - Pickstown, SD, the son of Charles Spencer Medicine Horn, Sr. "Joker" and Annie O'Connor on December 31, 1946. He passed away on November 20, 2012 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell wurrounded by family and friends.

Louie lived in Idaho for awhile with his first wife, Kathryn Keeble. They had two children: Louie Jr and Heather. He lived in South Dakota most of his life. He was a jack-of-all trades but his passion was roofing, which he did most of his life until he got sick. He had a dream to build a house, which he got to fulfill. Louis had a degree in welding from Mitchell Vo-Tech, graduating in 1987.

He married Colleen Archambeau, his childhood sweetheart, in 1975. They remained friends all of their lives. They had three daughters: Dolly, Denice and Maelena; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren with Colleen. Louis has three brothers: Alden, Larry Q and Purcell. His brothers-in-law were his family too: Pete Jr., Jimmy and Jackie, all gone too. His brother John is still alive and lives in Idaho. His sisters Christine, Unice, Vera and Amy are still living. Sister Delphine passed at three months and brother Spencer passed at birth. Other sisters are Beverly, Mae, Denise, Maggie, Dorthy, Charlotte, Dollares "Boo Boo". He is also survived by many other grandkids, nephews and nieces. Louie was loved dearly and will be missed for a long time. He was a very kind man who loved to watch football, wrestling and spooky movies. His favorite football team was the Denver Broncos.

Rest in peace Louie, you will be missed and always remembered for your sense of humor and love of life and family.
