Mass of the Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am, Friday, January 25, 2008 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Wagner. Burial is in the parish cemetery, rural Wagner. Visitation will be Thursday from noon until 5 PM at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner. Rosary/Wake services will be 7 PM, Thursday at the church.

Lucille T. Brisby was born October 13, 1923 at Omaha, NE, the daughter of Bernard and Mary (Chon) Kopaczewski. She died Sunday, January 20, 2008 at her home in Wagner, SD. Lucille attained the age of 84 years, three months and seven days.

Lucille attended school at South High in Omaha, NE. She married George E. Brisby on February 6, 1943 at Omaha, NE. They lived in Omaha where Lucille worked at the Lithuanian Bakery and also in California where she worked at Subway and also as a cook for the Anaheim School District. They moved to Wagner, SD in 1996.

Lucille was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Wagner. She was also a member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliary.

Lucille will be remembered for her love of crafts, gardening and her ornery nature.

Thankful for having shared her life are her two daughters: SanDee and husband Stan Swatek of Wagner, SD; Sally Barnes of Orange, CA; a son, George "Shorty" and wife Jackie Brisby of Wagner, SD; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a brother, John Kopaczewski of Omaha, NE; two sisters: Helen Hastings and Mary Whipple, both of Omaha, NE and a special nephew, Joey Brisby of Virginia.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, George on February 22, 2001; parents; two grand kids: Michael Swatek and Josh Brisby; three infant brothers and a sister, Bernice Craig.
