Lyle M. Davis, 74 of Tripp
Lyle Marshall Davis, son of Scott and Alma (Noreen) Davis, was born August 31, 1935 on a farm north of Wagner, SD. He died Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Society in Tripp, SD. Lyle attained the age of 74 years, six months and four days.
Lyle graduated from Wagner High School and then served in the United States Army from September 1954 through September of 1956. Lyle moved to Concord, California in January of 1957 and was a printing press operator by trade. He returned to South Dakota in August of 2004, retiring in Tripp.
Lyle will be remembered for his enjoyment of hunting and fishing. He was a top competition bow shooting individual, winning numerous awards.
Thankful for having shared his life are two brothers: Earl W. Davis and wife Viola of Mitchell; and Loren G. Davis and wife Marlis of Prior Lake, MN; three sisters: Fern L. Davis and husband William of Branson, MO; Arbutus McCormick of Council Bluffs, IA; and June Gentry of Concord, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Frances Melech and husband Lawrence; a brother Wayne Davis and wife Marianne; and two brothers-in-law: Nelson McCormick and J.B. Gentry.
