Mabel C. Larson, 97 of Wagner and formerly of Delmqnt
died Thursday, August 28, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Society in Wagner. Her funeral service will be 1:30 pm Saturday, August 30, 2008 at the United Methodist Church in Wagner, with burial in the Delmont City Cemetery, rural Delmont at 3:30 pm. Visitation will be Friday from 3 pm to 6 pm at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner.
Mabel Cecilia Larson, daughter of Arthur and Hilja (Innala) Lagg, was born March 21, 1911 at Butte, MT. She died Thursday, August 28, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Society in Wagner. Mabel attained the age of 97 years, five months and eight days.
Mabel attended school in Delmont, Lead and graduated from high school at Astoria, OR. In 1934, she graduated form nurse's training from the Methodist Hospital in Mitchell.
Mabel married Marvin E. Larson on April 29, 1935 at Deadwood, SD. Two sons were born to their union.
Mabel worked as a RN at the Sanator in Custer, SD. She and Marvin ran the Harney View Dairy at Custer until 1940, when they moved to the Delmont area to farm.
Mabel was a member of the Delmont Methodist Church and later transferred her membership to Geddes. She also was a member of Tops Club, card clubs and helped with 4-H Clubs. Mabel will be remembered for her enjoyment of square dancing, playing cards and doing crafts.
Thankful for having shared her life are her son: George and wife, Sue of Wagner and Jay and wife, Judy of Mitchell; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews.
Mabel was preceded in death by her husband on May 6, 1989; parents; brother, Rudolph "Rudy" and his wife, Amanda; an infant brother; and two nephews.
