Makenzee Kasee "Hehaka Mani Win" Drapeau was born May 27, 2009 at 2:32 PM to Galicia Drapeau and Gregg Frederick. She was born so excited to enter this world, she came two months premature. Since birth, she faced the challenge of chronic asthma placing her in and out of the hospital until two years ago. She has one brother whom she loved more than anything, Kobe Drapeau.
Makenzee began dancing when she was two years of age and loved the sacred jingle dress dance. Her mother had chosen this style of dance for her because it is the medicine dress dance. She felt she could continue her walk here strong with awesome prayers and healings through her Indigenous way of life. In the beginning of her powwow career at the age of two, she was crowned Omaka Teca Wacipi Princess for the Isanti Sioux Tribe. The family always told her from that day on she was a "Real Life Princess". Her favorite color was pink and the family always made sure she had everything Princess themed and treated her as such. She enjoyed playing with her barbies, all stuffed animals, play-doh and play house with whomever she could make play with her.
Makenzee will be leaving behind many loved ones and as the little angel she is, we know she will be watching over all of us.
