Malinda S. Cross passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Autumn Winds in Yankton, SD at the age of 103.

Malinda, daughter of Christian and Anna (Hinrickson) Larsen, was born February 5, 1913 in Verdigre, NE. She was baptized August 6, 1913 in the Methodist Church of Verdigre. Malinda attended school at District 47 west of Verdigre.

In 1931, she married Homer Boelter at O'Neill, NE. They farmed near Page, NE during the years of the Great Depression. During these years of hardship, five sons were born to Homer and Linda. On June 9, 1952, she married Frank Cross and they lived in Crofton, NE. Frank worked for the Corps of Engineers and in 1959 after being transferred, they moved to Pickstown, SD. They later moved into Lake Andes, SD and lived here until October 17, 2006, when they moved into the Lake Andes Care Center. On March 8, 2010, after the death of her husband, she moved to the Autumn Winds Assisted Living in Yankton, SD to be near her children and grandchildren.

Linda was a member of Royal Neighbors, Fridales Pioneer Club and the Extension Club. She served as President of the Lake Andes Senior Citizen Center for nine years. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo, gardening, raising flowers, garage sales, and of course baking. She will be remembered for her homemade pies, rolls and doughnuts. Her greatest love was her family and her devotion to God.

Linda is survived by four sons: Ronald of O'Neill, NE, Virgil of Billings, MT, Elwood (Nola) of Yankton, SD, and Gene (Victoria) of Alta, IA. She leaves behind 16 grandchildren, over 50 great grandchildren, many great-great grandchildren and many friends.

Linda is preceded in death by two husbands, Homer Boelter and Frank Cross; two sisters, Marie Ruzicka and Lenora Thompson; two brothers, Albert and Harley; and one son, Freeman.
