Marcella Fuchs, 87, of Wagner


Services are 10:30 AM, Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at the Wagner Community Church in Wagner. Burial is in the Lakeview Cemetery in Lake Andes. Visitation is Monday from 4 to 7 PM, followed by a 7 PM Prayer Service at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner.

Marcella Elsie Fuchs was born March 16, 1927 in rural Tabor, the daughter of Frank and Hattie (Rehurek) Kulhavy. She passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society in Tyndall, where she had been a resident for the last several years. Marcella attained the age of 87 years, eight months and 15 days.

Marcella was baptized and confirmed in the Presbyterian Church northeast of Wagner. She attended Choteau Creek School northeast of Wagner through the eighth grade. Marcella married John Fuchs, Jr. on September 16, 1946 in Lake Andes. Together they farmed southwest of Wagner.

Marcella enjoyed baking and cooking. She made many specialty cakes for family and friends. She loved spending time with her grandkids. She also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Marcella loved to fish, do word search puzzles, tend to her flowers, especially her peonies and she always had a camera with her and took lots of pictures. She also enjoyed listening to polka music and Elvis Presley music.

Thankful for sharing her life are her son Kenneth and wife Jeanette Fuchs of Lake Andes; daughter Joyce Schaecher of Avon; four grandchildren: John Fuchs, Phyllis (Tracy) Mach, John Welch III, and Carrie (Craig) Halstead; seven great grandchildren: Kelsey and Brody Fuchs, Kolby and Shelby Mach, Sarah and Martin Welch, Kendra Halstead; and one step great grandchild, Libby Foster; sisters-in-law Margaret Fuchs of Wagner; and Dorothea Lawson, Apache Junction, AZ; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marcella was preceeded in death by her husband, parents and one brother, Donald Kulhavy.
