Marcia K. Hall, age 74, of Wagner, died Monday, December 15, 2014, at Oak View Terrace – Freeman Regional Health Service, Freeman, SD after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Her memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, December 19, 2014 at the East Lake Andes Lutheran Church, rural Wagner, SD with the Revs. Clark Gies and Jordan Andreasen officiating. Inurnment will be at the East Lake Andes Lutheran Church Cemetery. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.
Marcia was born on March 18, 1940, on the farm to Nick and Edith (VanderHeiden) Pranger of Platte, SD. She attended Platte Public School.
On August 27, 1956, Marcia married Dale Hall in Sioux Falls. They were married for 58 years and their lives were enriched with three sons, Mike, Steve and Jeff.
She went back to school and attended the University of South Dakota, Springfield and graduated in 1973 with a degree in English. She taught a total of 27 years in Delmont, Lake Andes and the last 20 years in the Wagner Community School as the Librarian.
Marcia was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Wagner, member of NEA (National Education Association), SDEA (South Dakota Education Association), and State Library Association. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and having family gatherings. Christmas was a special time of the year for her. She loved flowers, playing bridge, reading, croqueting, baking, kittens, and overall loved life. Her dedication and love for her family made her the wonderful person she was.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Dale of Wagner, her three sons: Mike (Barb) of Huron; Steve (Gail) of Cumberland, MA; Jeff (Michele) of Woodstock, GA; six grandchildren and two step grandchildren: Amy, Nichole (Tim) Wenz, and Eric of Huron; Jessica of Omaha, NE; Brittney of San Diego, CA, Kyle of Lincoln, NE; Autumn Taylor and Amy Meyer of Cumberland, MA; two great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren: Trace and Tryan Wenz and George, Kaliya and Antonio Taylor; one sister, Darlene (Bruce) Bakken of Platte; brothers-in-law: Neil (Doris) Hall of Corsica and Derol Hall of Wagner; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Marcia in death were her parents and two sisters, Julie Prida and Jeloy Freeman.
