Martha Hrdlicka, 91, of Wagner
Martha died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at her home in Wagner. Funeral Services are 10 AM, Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Wagner. Burial is in the Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Wagner. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 5 PM at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner, followed by a 7 PM Prayer Service at the church.
Martha L. Hrdlicka was born June 4, 1925 at Wagner, SD, the daughter of Frank and Amelia (Uherka) Slama. She died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at her home in Wagner.
Martha married Lloyd Hrdlicka on June 11, 1946 at Wagner. Together they farmed in the Wagner area for many years, until they retired on August 23, 1984, and moved into Wagner. Lloyd died on September 13, 2003. Martha continued to live in Wagner and was active in many organizations. Martha was a member of the United Methodist Women's Auxiliary, Extension Club, Wagner Hospital Auxiliary and AARP.
Martha will be remembered for her love of polka music and dancing, traveling, playing cards, baking kolaches, gardening, her famous V pickles, and enjoying time with her family and friends.
Thankful for having shared her life are her four children: LaVerne and wife Barbara Hrdlicka of Lincoln, NE, Carol and husband Donald Slaba of Wagner, Donald Hrdlicka of Louisville, KY, Alan and wife Paula Hrdlicka of Spearfish; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and two on the way; two sisters: Amelia Hebner of Idaho and Francis and husband LaVerne Andersh of Rogers, AR; a brother, Benjamin and wife Gail Slama of Avon; and two sisters-in-law, Mildred Slama of Yankton and Vivian Hrdlicka of Wagner.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband; an infant son; parents; brother, Frank Slama; and two brothers-in-law, Melvin Hrdlicka and Lee Hebner.
