Mary Ann (Krcil) Grills, 70, of Yankton
Mary Ann died Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the Heritage Manor in Wakonda. Funeral Mass will be 1 PM, Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Assumption Catholic Church in Dante. Burial is in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, rural Dante. Visitation is Friday from 3 to 5 PM at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner followed by a 7 PM, Rosary/Wake Service at the church in Dante.
Mary Ann Grills was born November 20, 1946 at Wagner, SD, the daughter of Joseph A. and Mary (Konfrst) Krcil. She died Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the Heritage Manor in Wakonda at the age of 7o years, 11 months and 11 days.
Mary Ann attended country school through the 8th grade. She then stayed home and helped on the family farm until her parents passed away. She then moved to Yankton. She married William Grills in Yankton. He passed away in April of 2000. She then moved to assisted apartments, helping with numerous jobs. As her health failed, she moved to the Wakonda Heritage Manor.
Mary Ann was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Yankton.
Mary Ann will be remembered for her love of playing Bingo, embroidering, her pet cat and going out to eat fried chicken. She loved to cook and invite her siblings and family to eat.
Thankful for having shared her life are her four brothers: Vit and wife Mildred, Tony and wife Rita of Wagner, Joe and wife Irene of Dante, and Frank and wife Linda of Avon; sister, Dorothy Dixon of Wagner; brother-in-law, Steven Walloch of Scotland; sister-in-law, Judy Krcil of Wagner; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband William Grills; parents; grandparents; sister, Frances Walloch; two brothers, John in infancy and Tom; brother-in-law, Jim Dixon; niece, Amy Krcil; nephew Lawrence Krcil; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
