Mary Smith

Graveside services will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Wagner, SD at 1:30 pm on Friday, October 31, 2025.

Mary Monica Smith was 99 and entered eternal rest in October 20, 2025 from her residence in Pfarr, TX.

Mary was born August 8, 1926 to Margaret and W. Lloyd Gilreath in Sioux City, Iowa.

Mary graduated from Ravina High School and became a school teacher. She married Thomas L. Smith and was married for 62 years. They lived in Colorado Springs until they retired and moved to McAllen, TX.

Mary loved to travel and enjoyed going to Africa.

Mary is survived by her daughter-in-law Sheri, several grandchildren and great grand children, numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Tom and four sons: Jackie, Billy, James, and Tom D; her parents Margaret & Lloyd Gilreath; her siblings and spouses: Creston & Helen Gilreath, Percy & Ruby Gilreath, Tres & Earl Cross, Verne & Shirley Gilreath, Donald & Margaret Gilreath, and Connie Schroeder.
