Melissa Williams, 50, Casa Grande, Arizona

Melissa Williams passed away May 3, 2023 in Casa Grande, Arizona. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Bonesteel City Hall at 1 P.M. in Bonesteel, SD. Her wake services will begin Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Bonesteel City Hall

Melissa Crystal Williams was born August 30, 1972 to Virgil Williams, Sr. and Margaret Andrews-Williams.

She attended Bonesteel School, Stephan Indian School, and she also attended Sinte Gleska College.

She lived most of her life in the Bonesteel/Milk's camp area. Later in her life, Melissa met and married Leslie Makes Room For Them. In this union two children were born, Darwin and Montoya Makes Room For Them. She loved her children very much.

Melissa loved to sing and travel to pow-wows with her family. She had such a beautiful voice, which will not be forgotten.

She worked at Fort Randall Casino and other various jobs.

She moved to Arizona with her niece, Lerissa in 2019. Living in Arizona is where she took her last breath.

Melissa is survived by her children, Darwin (Grace) Makes Room For Them, daughter Montoya Makes Room For Them; one brother Virgil (Gook) Williams Jr.; three sisters: Jessica (Eldon) Reed, Sharon (Theopile) Eagle, Fran (Hilario) Hernandez; one uncle Jesse Andrews Jr.; and four aunts: Winifred and Rita Andrews, Velma Chasing, and Becky Roubideaux.

Melissa is preceeded in death by her dad, Virgil Williams Sr., mother Margaret Williams, brother Whitley Oscar Little Bear; two sisters: Lottie Little Bear and Tammy Williams; Grandma Mercy Stone Arrow-Andrews; Jesse Andrews Sr., Charles and Virginia Roubideaux, and Waldron Stone Arrow.

Melissa has many grandchildren she loved so dearly: Jordan (Bullfrog) and Jaxton (Fuzzy) Misun, Jailen and Malina Makes Room For Them, Eliza and Praire Makes Room For Them, Davonte and Lewis Williams, Rayshawn Hamilton, Aloyisious Antelope, Izaya, Izaydis, Izaylea Black Bonnet, Crystal and Juan Jr. Sanchez, K'liyah and Baileigh Williams, Marlena and Jaylena Blaine; and many nephews and nieces who she loved very much.
