Mildred Abdouch, 92, of Wagner
Mass will be held 10:00 am Friday, August 13, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Wagner, with burial in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held 12 noon to 5 pm Thursday at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner, followed by a 7 pm rosary/wake service at the church.
Mildred Victoria Abdouch, daughter of James and Anna (Krsnak) Mareska, was born July 8, 1918 at Chicago, IL. She died Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Society in Wagner. Mildred attained the age of 92 years and one month.
Mildred attended Wagner Public School and graduated from Wagner High School in 1936.
Mildred married George Abdouch in 1942. A son, Dean was blessed to their union. George died January 7, 1988. Mildred was lovingly cared for in her home by her son for many years. She entered the Good Samaritan Society on March 16, 2010.
Mildred worked for Northwestern Public Service in Wagner as a secretary/bookkeeper for 25 years. She retired in 1982, but remained a meticulous record keeper all of her life.
Mildred was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Altar Society, St. John's March Band, and the Northwestern Public Service Retiree Group.
Mildred loved music and playing the piano, receiving numerous music awards. She also was known for her beautiful penmanship and received awards for it. Mildred enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching game shows, especially Jeopardy, and shows about geography and history knowledge. She loved visiting with her brother and sister, but will be remembered for her enjoyment of listening. Mildred will fondly be remembered by her son for her excitement of watching him watch Notre Dame sports.
Thankful for having shared her life are her son, Dean of Wagner; brother Wayne and wife JoAnn Mareska of Wagner; and sister Lottie Kelly of Vallejo, CA.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
