Obituary

Milo E. Stahlecker was born July 30, 1940, at his home in Boyd County, Nebraska to Walter and Vera (Spahn) Stahlecker. He died December 9, 2019 at the Josie Harper Residence Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 79 years, four months, and nine days.
Milo grew up and attended country school in the Butte and Naper area. He graduated from Naper High School in 1959.
Milo married Lynelle Lunn on July 7, 1962. To this union, three daughters were born: Mari, Michelle, and Melissa.
In 1962, Milo was employed at the cheese plant in O'Neill, Nebraska. In 1966, O'Neill Lockers, which he and Lynelle purchased in 1981, and sold it in 1997. Milo was also a reserve Police Officer in O'Neill for 40 years. In 1998, he became a corrections officer at the Mike Durfee State Prison in Springfield, South Dakota. They moved to Springfield in 1999 and resided there until his passing.
Milo loved westerns, riding his Suzuki motorcycle, and the Thursday night rides to small towns around the area. He enjoyed watching the Polka Party, eating at KFC, and Nebraska Football. He loved visiting with family and friends and attending his grandchildren's events.
Milo is survived by his wife, Lynelle, 3 daughters: Mari Lieb (Lee) of Omaha, Nebraska, Michelle Campbell of O'Neill, Nebraska and Melissa Howard (Tim) of Humphrey, Nebraska; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four siblings: Bernita Oliver of Spring, Texas, Marge Zauner of Bakersfield, California, Bernice Spitzenberger of Houston, Texas, and Earl Stahlecker (Joyce) of Yankton, South Dakota; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Milo was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings: Harold, Rob, Howard, Kenneth, and Donna; three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law.
Memorial Services are being held at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, LaVista, on December 13th at 10 AM; St. Vincent Catholic Church in Springfield, South Dakota on Thursday, December 19th at 10 AM; and Christ Lutheran Church, O'Neill, Nebraska, December 20th, at 10 AM, with Interment in the O'Neill Cemetery.

Memorials will be directed by the family.
