Myrann Ludens, 95, of Springfield
Myrann died Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society in Tyndall. Due to current Covid-19 health concerns, a Celebration of her Life will be held at at later date.
Myrann Joyce (DeRoos) Ludens was born September 10, 1925, in Sidney, Montana to John J. and Anna H (Schultz) DeRoos. At a young age, she moved with her parents to a farm west of Springfield, SD where she grew up. She attended the rural Dahlenburg School, Springfield High School, Southern State Teachers College, and one year at Central College, in Pella, Iowa. She received a degree in Elementary Education. She taught at the Hornstra rural school, Bonesteel, SD, Wagner, SD and Christian schools in Denver, CO, Miami, Fl and Cicero, Ill.
Myrann joined the Emmanuel Reformed Church, October 3, 1943. She taught Sunday School, Catechism and held several offices in the Guild and Willing Workers Circle.
Myrann married Carl E. Ludens, October 5, 1962. They lived on the farm where she was a farmer's wife, and helped raise Carl's two sons, Don and Gene. She will be remembered for wonderful family meals, homemade applesauce and rice crispy treats. Don and Gene are grateful for her presence in their lives.
Myrann loved to travel, read, and enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
As a dedicated and devoted daughter, she was the primary caregiver for her father, John J. DeRoos. She cared for him for 10 years prior to him becoming a resident at the Good Samaritan Society in Tyndall, SD, where he died at age 92.
Grateful for having shared her life are her children: Donald (Fay) of Rapid City and Gene (Cheryl) of Springfield; six grandchildren: Adrian, Heidi, Mallory, Gina, Megan, and Kayla; thirteen great-grandchildren: Taylor, Ashley, Victor, Maddy, Lincoln, Zoey, Ella, Emma, Eden, Gene, Ansley, Beckett, and Finley; her niece Andrea (Charlie) Brinegar and family; members of the Lundin and DeRoos family, and many friends and relatives.
Myrann was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl, and sister Elgene.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Good Samaritan Society Tyndall for their wonderful care and kindness to Myrann. She was a resident there for nearly 9 years. We also thank the many friends and relatives who faithfully visited her and provided comfort and companionship either personally or through phone calls, cards and letters.
Memorials in Myrann's honor may be given to the Emmanual Reformed Church, Springfield, SD, the Good Samaritan Society Tyndall or Dakota Senior Meals in Springfield, SD.
