Norman "Bud" Daily, 79, of Wagner
Bud died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton. Private family graveside services are being held.
Norman "Bud" Lee Daily, son of Lyle F. and Edna (Johnson) Daily, was born August 31, 1929 in Wagner, SD. He passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton with his wife and children at his side.
Bud attended school in Wagner. Upon the death of his father, he left high school early to care for his mother and four sisters on the family farm.
Bud married Evelyn "Evie" Coles on July 25, 1952. Evie was Bud's loving wife for 57 years.
Among his life's work, Bud was a heavy equipment operator during the construction of many of the Missouri River Dams. He also worked in the commissary at the Pickstown Air Base. Bud ended his working career and retired from the Charles Mix County Highway Department in 1992.
Bud's memory will be forever cherished. His love for his family always came first. He was a dedicated husband and a loving father and grandfather. Bud will always be remembered for his sharp wit, positive attitude and the many people who called him their friend. Bud enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting pheasant, antelope and deer.
Thankful for having shared his life are this wife Evie of Wagner; son, Ron and wife Andrea of Phoenix, AZ; daughter Dawn and husband Ken Mueller of Crofton, NE; six grandchildren; one great grandchild and another great grandchild due in June; sister Marilyn Zylstra and husband, Ed of Wagner; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Dennis; three sisters: Donna Youngbluth, Carol Simon, Lila Daily; and son-in-law, Lynn Wysuph.
