Orville Waterman, 82, of Geddes
Funeral services are 2 PM, Friday, June 24, 2016 at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner, with visitation an hour prior to services. Burial is in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner.
Orville D. Waterman, son of Altie and Anna (Herout) Waterman, was born October 23, 1933 at Wagner, SD. He died Monday, June 20, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society in Canistota, at the age of 82 years, seven months and 29 days.
Orville attended school through the eighth grade in Geddes. He enjoyed farming as well as working construction with his brother, Joe. Orville lived with his brother Joe and his family. Joe's children looked up to Orville as a father figure. Due to failing health, Orville entered the Good Samaritan Society in Canistota in April of 2010.
Orville enjoyed hunting on the farm with all of his relatives in the Fall. He had nicknames for everyone and a sense of humor that no other had.
Thankful for having shared his life are his sister, Mavis Schmeichel of Jamestown, ND; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Orville was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Raymond, Freeman and Joseph; one sister, Marlene Wenke; one niece, Maria Wubben; and two nephews: Doug Wenke and Timmy Waterman.
