Patricia Louise (Strayer) Harrington was born November 6, 1931 at Omaha, NE, the daughter of Weir and Dorothea "Louise" (Axtell) Strayer. She died Friday, January 1, 2016 at her home in Wagner under hospice care surrounded by family.

Pat lived with her grandparents, Harry and Lottie Amber (Rhodes) Strayer off and on for many years on the farm where she spent the remainder of her life. She received her education at Bryan Twp. #4 country school, Pierre Grade School, Peoria, IL High School, Pierre High School and Wagner High School.

Pat married Gerald Dean "Tub" Harrington, her high school sweetheart, at the United Methodist Church in Wagner on October 20, 1949. They recently celebrated their 66th anniversary.

She received her 50 year pin from Eastern Star in 2010 and served the SD Grand Chapter as Grand Librarian and Grand Representative to South Carolina as well as holding offices in the Armour Eastern Star. She worked at the family-owned G&D Grocery and also co-owned and operated the Little Red Shack by the Railroad Track, an antique business in Wagner. She managed Bomgaar's Greenhouse during the spring and summer months for several years.

Pat will be remembered for her "Grandmother's Babysitting Service" and watching her nieces and nephews, latch hook projects, beadwork & jewelry making, embroidery, stamp collecting, and her love of traveling and gardening. She always had a smile on her face.
