Ramona Thaler, 85, of Wagner
Memorial Services will be 10:30 AM, Friday, March 10, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Wagner. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday with family present from 5:30 to 7 PM, followed by a 7 PM Prayer Service. Private family interment will take place at a later date. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.
Ramona Mae Thaler was born July 7, 1931 at Wagner, SD, the daughter of Charles and Emma (Obr) Charvat. She died Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls after an accident.
Ramona graduated from Ravinia High School in 1949 as Valedictorian of her class. She was united in marriage to Charles Thaler in Wagner at the Methodist Church on September 21, 1953. Together they farmed their entire lives on the farm that was her parent's.
Ramona was a very active member of the United Methodist Church, UMW and Eastern Star.
Ramona will be remembered as a very giving person. She loved quilting, baking and sharing her kolaches, tending to her huge garden and strawberry patch, sharing her produce and giving most of it away to her family and friends. Ramona loved her Century Family Farm and her neighbors.
Thankful for having shared her life are her husband Charles of Wagner; two daughters, Barb (George) Meyer of Madison and Roberta (Richard) Kafka) of Gregory; son Bob (Karen) Thaler of Brookings; nine grandchildren: Tony (Kristi) Meyer, Josh Meyer, Dan (Olivia) Meyer, Ben Kafka (Mellissa Whitely), Amanda Kafka, Lexie Kafka, Allyse (Mike) Steffen, Sarah (Dustin) Holt and Noah Thaler (Erin Johnson); four great grandchildren and one on the way: Braylee, Easton and Rawley Meyer and Charleigh Steffen; a sister, Georgie Bonnie of Phoenix, AZ; brother-in-law Lloyd Carda of Denver; and five nieces and nephews.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Vi Carda.
