Randy Franklin, 49, of Vermillion

Randy died Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral service will be Tuesday April 25, 2023 at the American Legion Hall in Wagner at 11 A.M. Burial will be at the Santee Catholic Cemetery in Santee, NE following the funeral meal. Wake service will begin Sunday, April 23, 2023 at the American Legion Hall in Wagner. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.

Randy Dean Franklin was born in Yankton, SD to Agnes Frankin and Roger Saul on May 29, 1973.

Randy attended Marty Indian School in Marty, SD, Flandreau Indian School in Flandreau, SD, and Ellendale High School in Ellendale, ND. He played football, basketball, cross country, track, and wrestling.

Randy started the work-force a the age of 16. He worked on road construction, roofing, IBP, Tyson's Chicken, Fort Randall Casino/Hotel, and Dakota Magic Casino. His most recent job was managing Otis & Dots Gift Shop.

Randy was a simple man. He enjoyed going to pow-wows, playing pool like his father Roger Saul and he picked up a nickname "Lil Doge."

He enjoyed family get togethers, listening to music, going on road-trips, watching his football team the "Steelers." He loved being with family and enjoyed being around his nieces and nephews who will miss him greatly.

Randy really enjoyed helping out on doing things with his elders.

Rand was the oldest of 7 siblings. Leaving behind 3 sisters; Clarissa (Jay) Franklin, Valerie Jandreau of Sioux Falls, SD and Frances and Tyson Jandreau of Vermillion, SD, Aggie II and Frank Jandreau III of Yankton, SD, and his mother Aggie Franklin of Vermillion, SD.

Randy was welcomed home by his father Roger Saul; grandparents Wesley and Shirley (Keeble) Saul; Josiah and Jenny Franklin-Necklace; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
