Obituary

Randy St. Pierre, 65, of Eagle Butte, South Dakota, passed away at his home on March 10, 2026. He was born October 13, 1960, in Wagner, South Dakota, to Bernell and Carol (Gullikson) St. Pierre.

Randy dedicated his career to helping others through his work in medical laboratory science. He spent many years traveling as a medical laboratory technician before eventually settling in Rapid City so he could be closer to his daughter, Mikayla. Being present for her school activities and special moments meant a great deal to him.

Later, Randy moved to Eagle Butte, where he worked as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist at the hospital. While working there, he furthered his education and earned his master’s degree in Human Resources Management—an accomplishment he was proud of and one that reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to learning.

Randy will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his profession, and the friendships he built along the way.

He is survived by his daughter, Mikayla St. Pierre (fiancé, Zach Kurzenberger) of Spearfish, SD; his brother, Bernell (Wendy) St. Pierre of Yankton, SD; and his sisters, Kathy St. Pierre of Clive, Iowa; Julie Sauberan (Eric Gillig) of Grand Forks, North Dakota; and Gayla (Ryan) Melcher of Wahoo, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Rick; and his nephew, Joshua Gratzfeld.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Peters Funeral Home in Wagner, SD. Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m. on Friday, March 20, with a procession to the cemetery and a brief graveside service to follow at 1:30 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held following the service at Happy Hourz in Yankton, SD, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate Randy’s life.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Randy’s friends and coworkers at Eagle Butte Hospital for their care, kindness, and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to his daughter, Mikayla.

“Rest in peace. Your journey is complete.”
