Renee Wright, 52, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Lake Andes
Renee died Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Wake services began Monday at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Funeral services are 1:30 PM, Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Community Center. Burial is in St. Philip's Episcopal Cemetery in Lake Andes.
Renee Marie Medicine Horn was born on August 9, 1963 to Christine Medicine Horn and Wilmer Trudell. Renee was a proud mother of 12 children, 8 of which are left to mourn: Lucy Flute, Gaylena and Shantell Jandreau, Taryn, Michael, Isiah, Darien and Brea Thomas. She also has 23 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who she loved to spend time with. She loved being outdoors, going to pow wows, and dancing. She also loved pow wow music, slow dance and R & B. Renee loved to cook and was good at it. She was a loving and caring mother, sister, daughter, auntie and friend who had a compassion for helping people no matter who it was. Renee spent many of her years living in Lake Andes, where she worked as a Security Guard at the Fort Randall Casino for years; she loved her job and was proud of it.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tierra Loraine Thomas; son, Charles Amule Flute and a set of twin babies; her father, Wilmer Trudell and her brothers, Glen Trudell and Saxon Selwyn.
Renee leaves behind to mourn her children; mother, Christine Selwyn; her brothers and sisters, Christina Costello, Brooke Costello, Patty Garcia, Bridgette Garcia, Mary Garcia, Niomi Primeaux, Paula Medicine Horn, Orville Stricker, Lori Arcoren/Selwyn, Levi Medicine Horn, Shelbourne Selwyn, Carl Trudell, Sinona Selwyn, Salone Selwyn and Kim Medicine Horn and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
