Retta Blaha, 75, of Wagner
Funeral Mass will be 10 AM, Monday January 28, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Wagner. Burial is in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Dante. Visitation is Sunday from 2 to 3 PM at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner. A Rosary service will be 5 PM, Sunday at St. John's Catholic Church in Wagner.
Retta M. Blaha was born September 12, 1943 at Wagner, SD the daughter of Raymond and Louise (Broderson) Kranig. She passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the Wagner Community Memorial Hospital.
Retta graduated from Wagner High School in 1961. She married David Blaha on November 11, 1961 and together they had three children: Roger, Randy and Renee.
Retta worked at St. Paul's Indian Mission office for several years and at Wagner Building Supply for many years until she owned and operated Blaha's Bridal and Boutique on Main Street in Wagner.
Retta was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Red Hat Club.
Retta enjoyed her grandchildren, reading and collected antiques. She collected 6,000 sets of salt and pepper shakers and hundreds of teapots. Her and Dave were very active members of the community. She will be remembered as a very loving mother and grandmother.
Thankful for having shared her life are her three children: Roger (Angie) Blaha of Wagner, Randy (Anne) Blaha of New Albany, OH and Renee Blaha of Sioux Falls; three granddaughters: Ashton, Jonalyn, and Carynn Blaha; two grandsons: Bradley and Samuel Blaha; brother Warren (Carol) Kranig of Greeley, CO; sister Patty Countryman of Mesa, AZ; and her dog Maddy.
Retta was preceded in death by her husband David Blaha, her parents Raymond and Louise Kranig, sister Phyllis Crichton, and brother Charles Kranig.
