Robert Michael "Chico" Peters, 52, of Lake Andes

Memorial services will be 2 PM, Saturday, June 16, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church in Wagner. Inurnment will be the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner. A Prayer Service will be held at 7 PM, Friday, June 15th, at the church. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Michael "Chico" Peters was born on September 28, 1965 at the Rodriguez Army Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the son of Robert Patrick and Mariana (Acosta) Stringer. He died Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.

Chico started school in Wagner in 1975 and graduated from Wagner High School in 1984. He served in the US Marine Corps. Chico later attended and graduated from Mitchell Vo-tech and earned an Associates Degree in Electronics Technology.

Chico married Lisa Dvorak on August 18, 1990, two daughters were born of this union, Andrea and Shannon. He married Renae Gasper on June 25, 2004 and welcomed a stepdaughter, Candace Dvorak.

He worked for Lodgenet in Sioux Falls for over 10 years. He went through the Apprentice Electrician program and worked for Weaver Electric in Pickstown which was then sold to Current Solutions. Chico had a fishing guide service, R&R Guide Service and worked for Donlin Marine until health issues prevented him from working.

Chico was a member of the Lake Andes Fire Department since 2003 (retired), the North American Fishing Club and St. John Lutheran Church.

He will be remembered for his love of fishing, guiding, camping, hunting, training his dogs, his pride and joy his black lab "Jack", making fishing lures, boat shows, darts, being on the farm, and most of all his laugh and smile.

Thankful for having shared his life are his two daughters: Andrea Peters of Sioux Falls and Shannon Peters of George, IA; stepdaughter Candace Dvorak of Lake Andes; Renae Gasper of Lake Andes; three grandchildren: Ashlyn Peters, Cashton Maude and Isaiah Milk; parents Tyrone and Mariana Peters of Wagner; siblings: Mary Peters of Wagner, Michelle (Mike) Robertson of Wagner, Amy (Mike) Blaha of Dante, Mathew (Tracie) Peters of Wagner and Thomas Peters of Rifle, CO; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Chico was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pablo and Edelmira (Acosta) Burgois, Elmer and Velda Peters; his biological father Robert; three maternal aunts: Lila, Olympia and Neddy Acosta; maternal great grandma Juanna Ramos; nephew Ty Robertson and nieces, Ella and McKenna Robertson.
