Roberta Fox, 71, of Wagner

Roberta died at her home in Wagner on Tuesday, December 8, 2015. Funeral services are 10 AM, Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the YST South Housing Gym in Wagner. Burial is in the Holy Name Episcopal Cemetery, Choteau Creek. Wake services began Wednesday at the Gym. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.

Roberta McBride Fox was born June 16, 1944 at Choteau Creek to Robert McBride and Pearline McBride Meyer. Her siblings are Nelson McBride, Dale McBride, Darrel McBride, Calvin McBride, Terry McBride, Antoine McBride, John Meyers, Charlie Meyers, Kenny Crawford, Bobbi Jo Crawford and sister Irene Moore. Her grandparents are Walter and Mary McBride who raised her and some of her siblings.

Roberta attended boarding school at Todd County. She eventually moved to Yankton where she attended school and worked at Gurney's where she met her husband Robert Fox. They were united in marriage on July 24, 1965 and to this union six children were born: Colleen, Jessica, Jason, Pam, John, Robert J. and Eileen. They lived in Denver where Robert obtained his mechanics training and then moved to Sioux Falls. They later moved to Santee, NE and while living there Roberta attended college in Springfield, SD and obtained her degree at the age of 56 at Marty College.

The family eventually moved to Wagner. Roberta worked as a cook at the Canku Teca Treatment Center. She worked as a floorwalker at the Radar Hill Bingo. She worked as a CHR driver for 10 years up until her retirement. Her memorable times as a CHR driver were visiting and checking in on the patients.

Roberta loved to read, play bing and play the machines. Her sidekick was her dog "Lola" whom she lost recently this past summer. She had "Lola" cremated to take with her on her journey home. Roberta especially enjoyed the visits with her family and friends.

Roberta leaves to mourn her children: Colleen Fox (Darrel Dion, Jr.) of Lake Andes; Jessica and Jacob Robbins of Virginia; Pam and Anthony Ashes of Wagner; Jason Fox of Wagner; Robert Fox Jr. of Mitchell; and Eileen Fox of Sioux Falls; brothers: Terry McBride of Wagner; John Meyer of Chamberlain; Doug Meyer of Ft. Thompson; Charlie Meyer of Albuquerque, NM; and Kenny Crawford of Wyoming; her sister, Irene Moore of Omaha, NE; cousins: Betty Taylor and Elaine Little of Wagner; Harvey LeClaire of Lake Andes; 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren (including a set of triplets).

Roberta is preceded in death by her husband Robert Fox, Sr.; son John McBride; parents, Bob McBride and Pearline McBride Meyer; grandparents: Walter and Mary McBride; brothers: Nelson, Dale, Antoine, Calvin and Darrel McBride, Sr.; sister Bobbi Jo Crawford; great granddaughter Rielee Lovell and her uncle Joseph McBride.
