Ronald L. Medricky, 70 of Dante

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Wagner, with burial in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner, with military honors. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday, with the family present from 5 to 7, followed by a 7 PM Prayer Service. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.

Ronald Lee Medricky, son of Joseph and Blanche (Bren) Medricky, was born December 15, 1945 at Wagner, SD. He died Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Wagner Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner. Ron attained the age of 70 years, four months and four days.

Ron attended a country school south of Dante through the eighth grade and later served in the National Guard for six years.

Ron raised Red Angus cattle. He was passionate about his cows and calving season and loved farming. Ron loved to help his neighbors. He loved to go fishing and hunting with his sons. Ron also loved car racing.

Ron was a member of the Moose Lodge in Yankton. He served on the Board of Directors for the Dante Coop for three years. Ron also served on the the Civil Defense for four years.

Ron loved his grandchildren and spoiled them with candy and cookies. They knew where to find his stash of cookies.

Ron knew the LORD at an early age. He was a genuinely kind and caring person. Ron also had a sense of humor and enjoyed being a jokester.

Thankful for having shared his life are his fiance' Rhonda Bermudez of Wagner; his sons: Michael and wife Miranda and Roger and wife Cassie, all of Dante; six grandchildren: Devon, Aubrey, Ravyn, Peytyn, Bradyn, Preslyn, and a little boy due in July; two sisters: Carolyn Kranig of Cherokee, IA and Shirley Jorgensen and husband Rick of Tucson, AZ; three nieces: Candy (John) Hahn, Tonia Pemberton, and Melissa (Jon) Larsen; and many cousins and friends who loved him.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; a niece, Cynthia Kranig; and a nephew, Charles Kranig.
