Rose A Kocer, 98, of Wagner

Rose died Thursday, November 1, 2007 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner, SD. Funeral Mass will be 10 AM, Monday, November 5, 2007 at St. John's Catholic Church in Wagner. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, rural Wagner. Visitation will be Sunday from 11 AM until 4 PM at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner, followed by a 7 PM Rosary/Wake service at the church.

Rose Ann Kocer was born July, 11, 1909 at Wagner, South Dakota, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Petrik) Soukup. She died Thursday, November 1, 2007 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner, SD. Rose attained the age of 98 years, three months and 21 days.

Rose attended school through the eighth grade. She married Frank A. Kocer on February 1, 1932 at Dante, SD. Together they farmed south of Wagner. Rose also worked at Buche's Grocery for 17 years.

Rose was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters and the Altar Society.

Rose will be remembered for her love of her family, quilting, gardening and working with flowers.

Thankful for having shared her life are her two sons: Fred and wife Pat Kocer of Pickstown; Dan and wife Carolyn Kocer of Wagner; a daughter, Connie and husband Donald H. Sieh of Prescott, AZ; 18 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a sister, Theresa Slaba of Geddes.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Frank A Kocer on September 25, 1985, and two daughters-in-law, Darlene Kocer and Alice Kocer; seven brothers and a sister.
