Sandra J. Swatek, 70 of Wagner
Her funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at St. John Catholic Church in Wagner, with burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery, rural Wagner. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner.
Sandra Jean "SanDee" Swatek, daughter of George and Lucille (Kopaczewski) Brisby, was born September 13, 1943 at Bellevue, NE. She died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at the Wagner Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner, SD. SanDee attained the age of 70 years, eight months and eight days.
SanDee graduated from South Omaha High School. She married Stanley Swatek on February 18, 1963 at Cheyenne, WY.
SanDee worked at several jobs throughout her life. These jobs varied from being a car hop during high school and working as a travel agent. Her most important "job" was being a loving wife, mother and foster mother.
SanDee was a member of the Mazur Polish Folk Dance Ensemble and the PNA.
SanDee will be remembered for her enjoyment of folk dancing, camping with family, crocheting, cooking and doing crafts.
Thankful for having shared her life are her husband Stan; her children: Johnny (Cheryl) Swatek of Wagner; Paddie (Judy) Naatz of Wagner, Kasia (John) Kramer of Aberdeen; Shonna Swatek of Massachusetts; Donald "Buddy" of Sioux Falls; Robert "Bobby" (Shavna) Swatek of Colorado Springs, CO; and Joey Swatek of Wagner; eight grandchildren: Katie, Jorden, Shawn, Abby, Brandon, Grace, Bella and Jayden; brother George B. (Jackie) Brisby of Tyndall and sister Linda Barnes of Garden Grove, CA.
SanDee was preceded in death by her parents and son Michael Joseph.
