Sarah passed peacefully from this life the morning of March 21, 2016 at Sanford Vermillion Hospital after a gradual decline in health. She was surrounded and supported by her family and friends during the last days of her journey.
Sarah was born in Los Angeles, CA on November 17, 1957 to Arthur and Gertrude Blaine. She lived in Washington, Utah and Chicago before settling down in South Dakota. She moved to Vermillion in 2002, where she resided until she passed. On January 10, 2016 Sarah was baptized and rededicated her life to the teachings and ways of Jesus Christ. Sarah found much joy in her grandchildren, who were the center of her world. She would go above and beyond to nurture her children and grandchildren. Sarah will be remembered for the compassion and kindness she showed loved ones, friends and strangers. For her outspokenness, her smile and joking nature. Sarah showed no fear in her passing so we show little pain in knowing that she is in a better place, amongst her relatives.
Sarah is survived by four children (and spouses): aaron, Christina (Jordan), Kyle and Kylene (Lyle); eight grandchildren: Juneau and Jillian Gallagher, Anthony and Jacob Johnson, Yamni, Davian and Amelia Dion, and Ethan Lance. Sarah is also survived by her sister, Charmaine Blaine.
Sarah was preceded in death by her son Dallas Chief Eagle III and her parents Arthur and Gertrude Blaine.
